he is in the hearts of all

The wandering swan of the soul dwells in the castle of nine gates of the body and flies away to enjoy the outer world. He is the master of the universe: of all that moves and of all that moves not.

Svetasvatara Upanishad

keeps all things under his protection

Come down to us, Rudra, who art in the high mountains. Come and let the light of thy face, free from fear and evil, shine upon us. Come to us with thy love.

Svetasvatara Upanishad

Wherefrom do all these worlds come?

They come from space. All beings arise from space, and into space they return: space is indeed their beginning, and space is their final end.

attract soul

Where there is creation there is progress. Where there is no creation there is no progress: know the nature of creation.
Where there is joy there is creation. Where there is no joy there is no creation: know the nature of joy.
Where there is the infinate there is joy. There is no joy in the finite.

Chandogya Upanishad

not what people here adore

Who sends the mind to wander afar? Who first drives life to start on its journey? Who impels us to utter these words? Who is the spirit behind the eye and the ear?

kena upanishad

messenger to the body

Samsara, the transmigration of life, takes place in one's mind. Let one therefore keep the mind pure, for what a man thinks that he becomes.

Maitri Upanishad

consciousness of joy

Why? For the joy of creation. Why is there evil? For the joy of good arising from it. Why darkness? That light may shine the more. Why suffering? For the instruction of the soul and the joy of sacrifice. Why the infinate play of creation and evolution? For Anandam, pure joy.
